Salma's new movie Dogma premieres at Toronto Film Festival. Here's a short plot summary: The great grand niece of Jesus Christ is enlisted to prevent two angels from reentering Heaven
and thus undoing the fabric of the universe. Along the way, she is aided by two prophets, Jay
and Silent Bob. With the help of Rufus, the 13th Apostle, they must stop those who stand in
their way and prevent the angels from entering Heaven. |

project will be a film for acclaimed independent director Mike Figgis. The new film has been tentatively titled Time Code 2000 and is described
simply as "an intense psychodrama." Figgis is reportedly hoping to
shoot the film, which is set during the course of a single day in Los
Angeles, using digital camera and a variety of improvisational techniques. |

Colonel" has been selected by Mexico as the country's official
Academy Awards submission. Based on the novel by Gabriel
Garcia Marquez, the film stars Fernando Lujan as the colonel and
Marisa Paredes as his wife. Salma Hayek is featured in a
supporting role. Her production company, Ventanarosa,
co-produced the picture. |

Salma's next film project: La Gran Vida |

Salma will shoot a movie in Spain for the first time, when she stars in a Spanish-language comedy called La Gran Vida. Hayek will play Lola, a Mexican waitress working in Madrid who befriends a
30-year-old suicidal man (Carmelo Gomez), who has borrowed $1 million
to blow on his last day on Earth, knowing he'll be killed anyway if he fails to return
the dough. Having met Lola, however, he decides that life may be worth living after
all. The film will be shot in Madrid for nine weeks, starting January 27. |
