'Chain Of Fools' DVD available in Germany
|
Posted by Jacinda @ 7:30PM February 15
Warner Bros. has kept this movie a secret for years.
'Chain Of Fools' is now available for rent as DVD in Germany and as video in Sweden.
Hopefully more international release dates will follow.
I watched the movie myself and cannot find a single reason why it was not released in theaters. It is a funny and edgy black comedy that keeps you entertained for its whole running time.
With its talented ensemble cast, I am sure the movie would have found an audience.
HayekHeaven.net is proud to present our own collection of unique DVD caps for you to enjoy.

Definitely no Bond girl
|
Posted by Jacinda @ 12:55PM January 16
"Bond girls. Tabloids and Internet sites were rife with fierce speculation over which women would share the screen with Brosnan, but eventual star Halle Berry actually snagged one of the coveted roles without even auditioning. ''I wish all my roles came as easy as this one,'' Berry said. (The other female Bond lead is a newcomer, British TV actress Rosamund Pike, who will be making her big-screen debut.)
Still, other actresses did come close, director Lee Tamahori said. He really liked Salma Hayek, and British pop star Sophie Ellis Bextor was "dangerously close" to getting a part."

Salma Hayek Screen-Tested for Bond20
|
Posted by Jacinda @ 02:45AM January 5
The Daily Telegraph has reported that Saffron Burrows, Salma Hayek and Sophie Ellis-Bextor have all auditioned for roles in James Bond 20. With Pierce Brosnan unable to attend the auditions actor Colin Salmon, who plays Charles Robinson in the series, took his place.
The audition piece, much like past auditions, was Tatiana Romanova's seduction of Bond in his hotel room from the second film in the series "From Russia With Love".
"I really enjoyed the audition with Saffron Burrows," Salmon said about the audition, "and Salma Hayek was great. Sophie Ellis Bextor came along too but I can't tell you any more it would be more than my job's worth."
With a rumoured filming location of Spain it's very possible that Hayek may have a role in Bond 20.
A casting announcement is expected this month.

I'm still checking the site for broken links. I can tell you it's quite a task to make my way through all the pages.
Meanwhile I added two new drawings to the fanart section. Thanks for your contributions.
February 22, 2002
Hooray.. we've moved to the server over at SalmaHayek.net. I can't thank Scott King enough for hosting us. I'm sorry for the inconvenience Tripod has caused in the last days by temporarily shutting down our site. Never no more is what I say to them.
The current version of HayekHeaven.net hasn't been debugged yet because I haven't had enough time to check everything today. Please report broken links as they occur. Have fun with the newly improved version of HayekHeaven.net!
February 21, 2002
I added two articles dealing with yesterday's press conference at the Santo Domingo Film Festival.
Here's what Salma had to say about her movie: article 1 | 2
February 17, 2002
Thanks to Alberto Motolinia for transcribing and scanning the article 'Viva Frida' as published in Vogue Mexico. It is a Spanish translation of the article previously printed in the December 2001 issue of Vogue's US edition.
February 16, 2002
Just added a whole bunch of new photos taken at the 'Collateral Damage' Premiere (thanks to Armando for the shot with Arnie).
I'll be checking the mails that I received when I was in Berlin. The stuff you've sent in will be added soon. Promised!
February 15, 2002 EXCLUSIVE
This might be the most exclusive treat HayekHeaven.net has ever presented you.
It is finally here: our unique collection of DVD caps from the never before released 'Chain Of Fools'.
Since Warner Bros. didn't support the movie, I thought it had to be awfully bad. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it is NOT!
I enjoyed it from start to finish (especially Salma's self-parody with the Playboy mag ;). Hopefully execs will overthink their decision and go for a wide release of the movie real soon. They definitely should!
February 13, 2002 CHAIN OF FOOLS!!!
Back from Berlin.. We had a fantastic time with lots of outstanding movies. Unfortunately it's back to normal now and I've got plenty to do.
I went to the video rental today and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the DVD edition of 'Chain of Fools' there! First thing I did was to rent it.
I still haven't watched the movie, but hell I am curious.. Unfortunately the DVD doesn't have any extra features - not even the original English language version.
I must watch the German dubbed version, but waiting is finally over. I started wondering if they were ever going to release the movie *sigh*. I'm going to make lots of screenshots for you to enjoy.
Expect more to come in the next days.
Here are the first snaps: 1 | 2 | 3
February 5, 2002
If you were thinking there was no update yesterday, think again! We are currently joining resources with SalmaHayek.net where our photo and video archives will be located.
Yesterday I moved the whole photo archive to their server.. no more broken links in the future. There is still some heavy debugging going on - so if you find broken links please report them.
Today I added a new gallery with photos from last night's 'Collateral Damage' premiere. Salma wore a classy white suit and a pretty interesting hat. :)
There are also more photos to the Media Spotlight Awards gallery. Coffee and I will spend the next days at the Berlin Film Festival as every year.
See you next Monday!
February 3, 2002
I finally had the time to complete the printable calendar pages for 2002.
Hope you like my photo picks. ;)
February 2, 2002
Big update today: I added the calendar page for February 2002
plus some Critics' Choice Awards and Media Spotlight Awards photo additions.
The photo galleries were updated with 77 new photos in January

February 1, 2002
Lots of changes to come. Thanks to the generous offer of Scott King, HayekHeaven.net will soon move to another server.
He will host our site and we can also be reached through his domain salmahayek.net now. Thanks for the free promotion and everything else!
We'll be moving with all the pix and video clips to the new server in the next week. This means a lot of work, but from now on broken links will be history..
Meanwhile, I added a few new photos taken at the Media Spotlight Awards. And the new videoclips are hosted by SalmaHayek.net now.
January 31, 2002
