WASHINGTON (AP) - Actress Salma Hayek will be celebrating Thanksgiving in the Balkans at the invitation of the
thousands of peacekeeping troops stationed there.
The Mexican actress, whose movies include "Wild Wild West" with Will Smith and "Desperado'' with Antonio Banderas,
signed on with the United Services Organization tour Nov. 22-27, said USO president, retired Marine Gen. Carl Mundy.
"Salma is responding to invitations from our GIs, issued during my recent survey tour of the Balkans,'' said USO goodwill
ambassador Johnny Grant. "She is very popular with them and will turn a lonely holiday into a festive occasion,''
Ms. Hayek plans to meet with peacekeepers in Kosovo, Macedonia and Bosnia.
