MEXICAN sizzler Salma Hayek marries Friends heart-throb Matthew Perry in the movie Fools Rush In, which hits cinemas today.But in real life, she prefers "strange-looking" men - as she reveals to TIM FENNELL, who quizzed her on men and movies.
IS there a man in your life?
No, not for two years. I have a crazy life. Last time I was working on a movie, I didn't even have time to go to the supermarket. I used to live on Kentucky Fried Chicken.
I live out of a suitcase - and I hate it. It's going to have to change.
WHAT do you look for in a man's body?
I can appreciate a man's body artistically, but most of the men I have been in love with have been very strange-looking men. I like imperfection.
WHO would you most like to meet?
I would love to meet Daniel Day Lewis. He seems like an interesting person and I would love to work with him. I like him in My Left Foot and Room With A View. I loved him when he was the geek.
WHAT'S the best approach you've had from a man?
I was sitting at a table with my girlfriend and 20 guys - well-known guys from Mexico. We were in Vegas and it was Mexican Independence Day. I'd seen this guy in a store in the day and I was very attracted to him. He was very good looking with a great body - not the sort I usually go for.
At the table, he said: "You are so beautiful that people shouldn't talk to you - they should sing when you're around." I said: "Oh really? Let's hear it."
He started shaking and said: "I'm a terrible singer." I said: "It doesn't matter - sing!" He said. "What do you want me to sing?" I said: "Opera."
And with the worst voice you could possibly imagine, in front of the whole bar, he started screaming his lungs out. I ended up going out with him for a year.
DO woman admire that sort of bravery?
Yes - especially me. Men usually wait for me to make a move, and I find that boring. I want to be pursued.
YOU were criticised for the sex scenes with Antonio Banderas in Desperado. What did you make of that?
I have been highly criticised a lot in Mexico for those love scenes. In Mexico, people are still very reserved about sex.
WHAT do you think of Matthew Perry?
He's a very funny guy. I think him and George Clooney are the best. Every guy I work with, I am good for their careers - Antonio Banderas, George Clooney. I worked with Russell Crowe and he's just signed this huge deal with Warners.
