DPA. - Salma Hayek will play the lead role in the next film of the Spanish director Mariano
Barroso, titled In The Time Of The Butterflies, which will be set in
the time of the dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo, who governed the Dominican Republic in the periods of 1930-1938
and 1942-1952.
With a budget of 10 million dollars the movie will be shot in September in Los Angeles
and Veracruz, according to an official notice emitted by the office of the film
director yesterday in Madrid.
Hayek will impersonate one of the four Mirabal sisters that faced the regime of
Trujillo, although it has still not been defined with whom she will share the part.
