later, they're back together, but within two hours, he takes offense at
an off-hand remark, and the separation starts in earnest. They see
other people, then, out of the blue, Steve asks Monica to marry him.

asking them what makes a marriage work, and she moves in with him. Then
comes the wedding, and when Steve freezes, anger rends the relationship
again. Can harmony return?
"After Desperado, I had the chance to do bigger, studio films," she admits. "But I didn't find any scripts that intrigued me more than my next film, Breaking Up. There's only two characters in the whole film: Russell Crowe (Virtuosity) and myself in a comedy about love. . .and sadness. It's funny and sad at the same time. Just like life."
