MAY 13, 2000, MEMORIAL COLISEUM, LOS ANGELES,
Calif.
The Revlon Run/Walk, co-sponsored by Revlon and The
Entertainment Industry Foundation, benefits charities
fighting ovarian and breast cancer. The event, which takes
place annually the day before Mother's Day, is one of the
nation's largest 5K races. More than 60,000 participants hit
the streets near the USC campus for this year's Run/Walk,
which wound up inside the historic Los Angeles Coliseum.
Prior to the race, participants got the chance to scour and
scrounge the grounds in search of free give-aways provided
by sponsors like Sav-On drugs, Dreyer's, Ralph's,
Robinsons-May, Babystyle.com, ABC channel 7, Rare,
Toyota and United Airlines.
Celebrities involved in the worthy cause were Revlon
spokespersons Cindy Crawford, Salma Hayek and Melanie
Griffith, along with speaker Dustin Hoffman, Whoopi
Goldberg, Christina Applegate, Johnathon Schaech, Tracy
Ullman, Kelly Hu, Jeri Ryan, Sean Young, Heather
Donahue, Dean Haglund, Aaliyah and breast cancer survivor
Wendie Jo Sperber. Antonio Sabato Jr. drove the pace car.
The Pointer Sisters gave a concert after the event.
